Prof. Dorothy Li's Message
We have shown in these past 15 years that East can meet West.
The Asian Alliance Program, a partnership between The John Marshall Law School and the legal community of the People’s Republic of China, was established as a cooperative effort after meetings in 1994. The alliance has thrived because of the sincerity and trust of all involved. I thank each of you who have touched my life in some way through our work with the Asian Alliance Program. I have made friends on both sides as I worked to build this partnership. I am so grateful to you for your support over these years. It was a thrill to have my small contribution to international cooperation recognized by the Chinese government in 2007 when I was presented with the Friendship Award after being nominated by the leaders of the State Intellectual Property Office. I was just as honored this year to be recognized by my colleagues at John Marshall who presented me with an honorary law degree.
The Asian Alliance 15th anniversary celebration this year reminds us of all the wonderful things we have accomplished and helps set our compass toward a future that will strengthen our partnership for the next 15 years and beyond. Congratulations to you all!
