TIPS and UPDATES Regarding Chinese Patent Prosecution & Litigation

While the US patent and innovative community is grapping with, and suffering from, the impact of Alice from SCOTUS since 2014, China has also been busy updating and refining its patent law.  Goals to improve utility model patents' quality (through some sort of substantive examination) and strengthening local SIPO enforcement powers are on the agenda, among other things.

At the same time, "on-the-ground" practices are also changing as specialized Chinese IP Courts (Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou) are handling more cases.  At the same time, various entities in the Chinese government have also issued opinions or rulings on cases regarding SEP and design patents, such as the news regarding Apple's iPhone and Qualcomm's licensing program against Meizu.

It is therefore always a pleasure and a welcomed learning opportunity to have attorneys from Liu Shen & Associates in China to host a Second Annual "Tips and Learn" Series Seminar on October 18, 2016 sharing their insights into the Chinese patent prosecution and litigation practices.  These young and upcoming patent attroneys - and proud JMLS LLM students - will discuss a number of topics including the latest on Supreme People's Court's interpretation/opinion on patent infringement, enforcement of SEP in China from anti-trust law perspective, etc.

The agenda for the seminar and registration information is below and attached:
