IP Courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou

The talk of establishing an intellectual property court took a concrete and firm step when a Committee of the National People's Congress met yesterday to discuss the bill attemption to establish intellectual property courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.  The Committee discussed issues such as cross-region jurisdictions, adjudication of all types of patents, new plant varieties, integrated circuit designs, technical secrets and other intellectual property matters.  In addition, the Committe discussed the IP court's review over appeals from the first instance courts within its jurisdictions.
